We’ve got a Pellenc 890, this is our third season running that harvester. We’ve been using machine harvesting and machine harvested fruit for probably 25-30 years now and when they came out with the onboard sorting system, the Selectiv’ Process…that’s what really pushed us towards Pellenc. The fruit that’s coming out of that machine is very very clean there’s hardly any leaves, very few stems, and it can go right in a tank without any further processing once it gets to the winery. For us at Silver Oak that’s really important. One of the factors that caused us to buy a machine to go to machine harvesting is the ability to be able to pick when we want to pick. For us, a day or two later than we want to really makes a huge difference in fruit quality. So being able to pick the amount we want, the time we want and keep on that schedule is really important. We’ve been very satisfied with the quality of the equipment. It’s in three seasons that we’ve been running it, we’ve had just a few minor issues that got straightened out quickly. Can’t say enough about the service department, they do a great job. They’re available 24/7 and we’ve used them a couple of times at all hours of the night. We chose this machine because we think it’s the best in the industry right now.

OPTIMUM combined multitasking
The only carrier on the market capable of working two full rows with two different tools simultaneously
The growing concerns of vine growers about the profitability of their farms, particularly in light of restrictions on herbicides, climate change, new requirements regarding pesticides, and expanding acreage are what led us to develop COMBINED MULTITASKING.
The PELLENC multifunction carrier is equipped with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic coupling systems for the quick fitting of one tool at the front of the multifunction arm and another at the rear, so that two full rows can be worked at once.
Today, more than 80% of our carriers work in multifunction mode.
Features
There is no equivalent on the market. This is the only carrier capable of working 2 full rows with 2 different tools. That ability to use a combination of tools simultaneously required our engineers to develop the carrier’s hydraulic, electrical, and electronic capabilities.
The machine’s intelligence lies in its control console and touchscreen panel, which enable the operator to control two tools simultaneously using a wide range of automated systems. The interface is designed to make the operator’s job easier and safe.
Some examples:
Multifunction Front Arm and Rear Tool Carrier:
- Multifunction front arm: 1 full row trimmer
+ 2 x 1/2 row trimmers (= 2 full rows) - Twin Row 3-point: Tool holder equipped with 2 cultivators
(with or without inter-vine probes).
2-Row Trimmer:
- Automatic width adjustment of the cutter bars from the cab (information on the plantation width and the canopy).
- Automatic folding and unfolding of the exterior cutter bars.
- Automated height adjustment and extension of the multifunction arm.
- Automatic width adjustment of the cutter bars from the cab (information on the plantation width and the canopy).
- These automated systems are linked to the start-up of the cutter bars and are carried out in hidden time while the driver turns around at the headland.
TWIN Row 3-Point Attachment:
- AUTOMATIC centering system between the vines thanks to the 2 probes located in front of the tools (width adjustment to adapt to different plantation widths).
- In-row 3-Points are re-centered behind the carrier automatically to move on to the next row with perfectly aligned tools.
- The height of each tool is also managed thanks to the ground probes. This means the whole assembly can work at a tilt.
- The hydraulics of the tool holder deliver power to the cylinder. The cylinder raises the rear tool when the arm is raised: this significantly reduces the need for maneuvering room at the headland.
Easy controls
- Two-click control. The start-up of the front tool is managed by the first click and the start-up of the rear tool by the second click. This lets the operator take account of the carrier’s progress in the row.
- Each time the tools are switched on or off, the automated systems on each tool save time at the headlands and free the operator from all the constraints associated with each tool.
The advantages of combined multifunction
- Automated systems that make the operator’s job easier
- Coupling and uncoupling at an accessible height + hydraulic coupling (less time consuming)
- Faster amortization of machines
- Fuel saving
- Labor saving
- Time saving in the field

Sprayer – EOLE 2
/in Optimum Carrier /by adminx1On narrow or wide vines, spray 3 to 6 rows at the same time. Carry out spraying with the help of pneumatic and air jet sprayers and take advantage of the Eole 2’s automated systems.
Cost-effective
- 3 turbines: economic performance.
- Drift on the ground and in the atmosphere limited through optimal and precise spray positioning.
- Adjustable diffusers depending on plant growth stage of the vines, without changing the hectare flow rate.
- Up to 30 % fuel savings.
Quality
- Precise positioning of spray on the plant canopy.
- Automatic ultrasonic ground tracking (slope correction of up to 30%).
- The turbines are positioned above the rows to ensure better distribution of the product.
- Optimum micronisation with pneumatic spraying.
- Reduced drift with air-blast spray.
- Powerful blending by hydrojets, provides a homogeneous mix in the tank for all types of products.
- Pump output of 25.3 gal/min at 20 bars.
Comfort
- Extremely easy to use with just one click (automatic opening and closing of the spraying booms).
- Plantation width setting from the cab’s control panel.
- Tank level visible from the cab: digital display.
Environment
- Thanks to the rinse circuit, effluents are significantly reduced.
- Pellenc carriers have wheels that are centred in the rows, thus ensuring the longevity of the vineyards.
- Drift is limited.
- Tanks washing is completed with rotary nozzles (optional).
- Up to 30% fuel consumption.
- Flow-rate directly proportional to ground-speed so the programmed dosage is respected.
- Preserves the root system (wheels are centred on the row).
We treat four full rows at once. The ultrasonic ground tracking ensures optimal positioning of the sprayers on sloped and uneven terrain. Since the distance is kept even between the diffuser and the plant canopy, the consistency and quality of the application is very good. We also appreciate Flow-rate Proportional to Forward speed function, which means that the flow rate of the dose per hectare is always respected regardless of the working conditions.
The pneumatic system allows for optimum micronisation. The motor speed control also allows you to save fuel, even in pneumatic mode.
Pneumatic or air-blast
The airblast system allows for limited drift and up to 30 % of diesel saved.
Folding / unfolding control with automatic width row spacing adjustment.
Unfolding and folding in one click
Row by row cut-off on all models, and outer half-rows on 4-row models from the cockpit.
The spraying boom with ultrasonic sensors follows the slope of the land and corrects the gradient by up to 30 %..
Ground tracking
Easy to use cruise control. The Flow-rate Proportional to Forward speed function continuously maintains the programmed spraying concentration, regardless of the working conditions. Settings are displayed on the Dickey John unit.

Leaf remover – Full/Half Row
/in In-row Tractor, Optimum Carrier /by adminx1Quality of manual work, simple and fast.
The new leaf remover suits most vineyards and the leaf removal is uniform as if performed by hand. The simple design ensures quick and easy control. The canopy is tracked by a sensor, which automatically manages the tool pressure on the trellising in real time—with no damage to the berries! Adjustments to the amount of leaf being removed is simply adjusted by the turn of a knob inside the cab! The Pellenc Soft-Touch Vineyard Leaf remover is used to effectively and gently pull leaves from the canopy by using the Soft-Touch sensor to automatically manage leaf removal intensity (adjusted with a single knob the cab). Vineyard leaf removal with the Soft-Touch leaf puller provides the same quality as leaf-removal by hand. Available in a half-row reversible model, or a full row model, the Pellenc Soft-touch leaf remover is an excellent tool to mechanize your vineyard management. Watch the video below to see the leaf remover in action and see the difference yourself!
COST-SAVINGS
- High ground speed of up to 2.5 mph.
- Available in a 1/2 row, 1 row, or 2×1/2 row version.
- Suits all vineyards.
- Reduced maintenance cost.
- Low fuel consumption, with reduced power requirements.
The PELLENC leaf remover is very simple to set up and function, and it took no time to learn to use it. Automatic tracking of the plant canopy increases the quality of removing without risk of damage to the berries. The swivel head ensures rapid passage in the headlands and also allows me to adjust the working height to each of my vineyard block. The folding position for transport is truly intelligent, and the visibility and comfort are indisputable. Even better, there is hardly any maintenance thanks to its simple design.
EFFICIENT
- Row tracking makes it possible to work in all types of vineyards with the same leaf removal rate, without damaging the fruiting zone, regardless of the stage of vegetation.
- Automatic safety swing-back mechanism in case of frontal impact.
- Automatic tracking of the plant canopy.
- The rollers catch the leaves without damaging the berries.
USER-FRIENDLY
- Intuitive controls.
- Simple coupling, hydraulic and electrical connections at an accessible height.
- Very good visibility of the row.
- Quiet machine.
- Compact, easy to handle at headlands.
- Reduced overhang and weight.
- Easy to use.
SOFT TOUCH
“Soft Touch” automatic row-tracking system
The suction module is automatically aligned to the plant canopy surface: it moves towards and away from the canopy according to the pressure applied to the sensor.
The Soft Touch system ensures:
- A constant leaf-removal rate (an unbroken swath of leaves on the ground);
- Full protection of the grapes thanks to the responsiveness of the system;
- Unparalleled driving comfort, with jolting eliminated without affecting the leaf-removal rate;
- Override on joystick so the operator can take over when there is no vegetation.
RESULTS
Leaf-removing quality as if done by hand
The row-tracking probe of the SOFT TOUCH leaf remover guarantees total protection of the grape with its wide surface area, and a constant leaf-removal rate with its high responsiveness.
The driver can just focus on driving, Soft Touch does the rest!
MAINTENANCE
Easy cleaning
Washing the module is very easy, with the 2 opening flaps which give direct access to the fan (very little clogging because the leaves do not pass through it) or to the suction zone.
The sensor coming into contact with the vegetation automatically controls the position of the removing head to perfectly follow the plant canopy. Independent tracking of the right/left modules of the 1 complete row leaf remover.
Automatic tracking of the plant canopy
The ½ reversible row leaf remover can work to the left or right of the machine and allows quick rotation at the end of the row.
Modular
The full row leaf remover can also be coupled with the OPTIMUM carrier.
